White Dresses Co-Founder, Kara Leonard, shared what makes her absolutely obsessed the Ines di Santo Collection each season.

Ines herself is one of the loveliest human beings I have ever personally met and I feel her sweet disposition can be felt throughout the collection by seeing the time consuming details she puts into each gown. Every gown Ines walks at market is a true work of art - always wowing. For me a bride who chooses an Ines di Santo gown is a bride who is looking to make a statement on her wedding day, wants to leave the guests speechless, and desires to wear a true work of art on their wedding day.

Morgan Bolen, owner of our Huntsville Bridal Shop, shared what made her pick up the line.

We routinely hear from our brides that we have the best selection of gowns in Alabama and that they look different than other places they have visited - we owe that to designers like Ines who consistently produce extremely detailed pieces of art. When selecting gowns for our shop, we overview the construction and attention to detail - which made selecting Ines as a brand to offer extremely easy. She is a designer for a glamorous bride.

We caught up with our Huntsville Bridal Shop and Nashville Bridal Shop Owners to hear about their favorite gowns under $4,000. Get ready to swoon!

Ella's Favorites Under $4,000

Julia is such a gorgeous gown on its own, but I absolutely love pairing it with the Tilly shrug by Stephanie Allin. I think this look is so timeless and just reads so bridal.

Palazzo by Jane White: Casi

Casi, designed by Palazzo by Jane White, is a stunning trumpet gown made out of 100% silk.

The simplistic elegance of Casi is absolutely my favorite. I love how easily it could transform for different venues and different styles of weddings. For a downtown vibe, I suggest adding a beaded sash. For a church wedding, a lace bolero. For a farm wedding, a simple raw silk bow does the trick. I can see so many Nashville brides loving this gown!

Kara's Favorites Under $4,000

Jim Hjelm by Hayley Paige: Katherine (JH8610)

Katherine, designed by Hayley Paige for the Jim Hjelm line, is a stunning ivory tulle ball gown with a sheer sequin embroidered bodice. The gorgeous V-neckline and open back create the drama that every bride is seeking!

Everyone knows that everything Hayley Paige touches is basically magic to me. The Katherine gown is no different. The dainty and delicate beading create the most gorgeous bodice I’ve seen on a bridal gown recently and the open back is seriously swoon worthy. It is such a sweet and modern look!
— Kara Leonard, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Bridal Boutique Owner

Tatyana Merenyuk: Cara Crop Top + Kristin Floor Length Chiffon Skirt

The Cara Crop Top and Kristin Floor Length Chiffon Skirt, designed by Tatyana Merenyuk, boasts a gorgeous lace crop with three quarter length sleeves and a flowy chiffon skirt.

Haute Bride was created after the designer searched high and low for a hair accessory for her own wedding. After being unable to locate the perfect headpiece, Lindsie designed her own and started selling her custom designed headpieces on eBay. In 2004, Lindsie attended her first bridal market in Chicago and New York with the Haute Bride line. Now her designs can be found in over 200 retail bridal salons worldwide. Haute Bride has consistently graced the cover and pages of Brides, Martha Stewart Weddings, Bridal Guide, Get Married Magazine, Wedding Belles, and more. In 2006, Lindsie was voted New Accessories Talent Designer of the Year by the Couture Bridal Market Show.

Get to know Hayley Paige, the designer behind the Blush by Hayley Paige Collection offered at both White Dresses Huntsville and White Dresses Nashville.

Our love affair with Hayley Paige, the designer and creative mind behind the Blush by Hayley Paige line, has been going on for far more years than White Dresses has been around! The Co-Founder of White Dresses and Co-Owner of the Nashville Bridal Shop had bridesmaids gowns designed by Hayley Paige before she was ever working with JLM Couture. We are so excited to feature the Blush by Hayley Paige line in our Designed Column today!

Designed by our sweet friend, Hayley Paige, the Blush Collection is characterized by casual elegance and femininity. As a sister line to the Hayley Paige line, these gorgeous gowns often times are made of soft tulle or cotton laces that create a feel of whimsical romance!

One of the many things we love about the Blush by Hayley Paige line is how light and airy the designs are - perfect for our Southern brides who are trying to escape the scorching heat summer southern weddings can bring! Additionally, the Blush by Hayley Paige line is extremely affordable - starting at just $1,430 and capping off around $2,750.

Everything that Hayley does seems like magic and the Blush by Hayley Paige line is no exception to that rule! I absolutely adore the way Hayley incorporates beading, lace, and luxurious fabrics into a line that is affordable for all brides to enjoy! I have seen tons of gowns in the price range that Blush offers, but none have even come close to matching the quality of fit and fabric that the Blush by Hayley Paige line offers.

We asked our Nashville Bridal Salon and Huntsville Bridal Salon to weigh in on their favorite looks from Blush by Hayley Paige.

My favorite Blush by Hayley Paige gown is from the Spring 2016 Collection and is named Ginger. It is a stunning ivory long sleeve lace A-line bridal gown with a low and open back. I absolutely adore this gown and think it will work within the wedding style of so many of our Nashville brides. It has gorgeous lace long sleeves, a stunning back, and tons of movement in the skirt - perfect for creating an ethereal look for wedding day! I would pair it with a flower crown and can picture it at so many of the gorgeous outdoor weddings our brides are hoping to have!
— Ella Kinsland, Co-Founder of White Dresses and Owner of the Nashville Bridal Shop
The Spring 2016 Collection from Blush by Hayley Paige was out of this world and I am so excited to introduce you to my new favorite gown from the line - Honeycomb! This gorgeous ivory chiffon beaded A-line gown has gorgeous lattice detailing and stunning floral appliqués throughout with a full tiered chiffon skirt. I absolutely love the back of the gown, which boasts a pretty deep back. I can picture this gown at so many Southern weddings and I can’t wait to share this look with so many of our Nashville Brides!
— Kara Leonard, Co-Founder of White Dresses and Owner of the Nashville Bridal Shop
My favorite Blush by Hayley Paige gown is River. This dupioni and tulle trumpet gown has a gorgeous sculpted elongated bodice with a tiered tulle skirt that has horsehair trim. I love the bolero, but also love pairing the gown with a stunning beaded sash or a lace bolero for the wedding! This gown has been a constant favorite of mine since working at the shop and I don’t see it leaving my favorite spot for a while - it is just so perfect!

Designed: Meet White Dresses Designer a.b. Ellie

Meet Ashley Adamson, one of the designers behind the a.b. Ellie sash and belt collection offered at both White Dresses Huntsville and White Dresses Nashville.

It's no secret - White Dresses loves a.b. Ellie sashes! These gorgeous pieces are the perfect addition to so many of our gowns and we are excited to be able to share a little about this amazing company and the women behind it!

When it comes to sashing a dress, look no further than a.b. Ellie - a bridal accessories label that specializes in the design and creation of elaborate and custom bridal sashes. Using only the finest materials and jeweling, a.b. Ellie creates gorgeous pieces that are individually sewn and crafted. a.b. Ellie sashes have been seen on bridal runways and throughout countless regional and national bridal publications. All of the pieces for the a.b. Ellie line are created by a precious sister and mom duo (no wonder Kara and I fell in love with them so many markets ago) in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Our Alabama bridal shop and Tennessee bridal shop not only love the gorgeous sashes themselves, but the amazing desire by a.b. Ellie to create pieces that are personalized and unique for each bride they encounter.

We (think) every bride should feel (a) sense of individuality. Her look should capture who she is on her wedding day, nothing more and nothing less. We took these concepts and (used them to launch) a.b. Ellie in 2010.
— Ashley Adamson, a.b. Ellie

Owners from our Nashville bridal shop shared why they love adding a.b. Ellie sashes to so many bridal looks.

What I love about a.b. Ellie sashes is how they can take a gown and completely transform it. The intricate beadwork and subtle detailing of their sashes truly make them works of art and I love seeing how brides can create an entirely different look by incorporating one of these jeweled masterpieces.
— Kara Leonard, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Bridal Shop Owner
Not only do I love the gorgeous work that a.b. Ellie does, but I love how I can help a bride truly convert the accessories she chooses by making custom changes. a.b. Ellie is so great to work with and I absolutely love their desire to create sashes that are as unique as our brides.
— Ella Kinsland, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Bridal Boutique Owner

While we love pretty much every sash that a.b. Ellie creates, our shop owners weighed in on their favorite sashes to pull for brides.

I love pulling the Camielle sash for brides. It boasts stunning pearl, opal and crystal detailing that is truly perfection.
— Kara Leonard, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Bridal Shop Owner

Even our mom has a favorite a.b. Ellie sash! If you have been to the store while she is there helping (which is probably a lot of you), then you have probably seen her pull Harper!

Without a doubt my favorite sash in the shop is Harper by a.b. Ellie! It is so vintage and I love the champagne colored satin ribbon with so many of our lace gowns! It is just one of those statement pieces you can’t help but love. Whenever a bride comes in and is looking for a sash, you will probably always here me suggest to the girls - try Harper!
— Teresa Leonard

Make sure to let your consultant at either our Huntsville bridal boutique or our Nashville bridal boutique know that you are interested in trying on a.b. Ellie sashes with your gown options! And make an accessories appointment if you are still looking for the perfect sash!

Following the footprints of great designers before her, a Heidi Elnora wedding dress is recognized by the quality in construction, fine attention to detail, and feminine relevance.

Based in Alabama, the Heidi Elnora brand is focused on being a personal and honest company, helping to create gowns that bride's fall in love with while staying true to their Southern roots. We are absolutely ecstatic to have Heidi's designs in both our Huntsville bridal shop and Nashville bridal shop locations.

Owners of both our Nashville bridal shop and Huntsville bridal shop weighed in on why they love Heidi Elnora.

When selecting gowns for our Nashville bridal boutique, we couldn’t resist the versatility of Heidi Elnora’s Build a Bride Collection. The collection offers amazing base dresses that are gorgeous on their own, but the beauty of the collection comes through the accessories that allow our brides to create custom wedding looks that perfectly match their venue and style. We are so proud to host this amazing line at our Tennessee bridal shop!

Heidi Elnora is the epitome of southern elegance and I am so happy that our Nashville bridal shop has the opportunity to carry this amazing designer. Giving our brides the freedom to be their own designer, Heidi has created a truly special line that any Southern bride can appreciate - whether that bride wants a simple gown or the most extravagant gown available!
— Kara Leonard
Our Huntsville bridal boutique is so excited to pair with Heidi Elnora and represent her gowns in Northern Alabama. Heidi’s line is perfect for the bride who wants the ability to create something truly unique.
— Morgan Bolen

White Dresses loves every gown designed by Heidi Elnora, but each of our shop owners weighed in on their favorite Heidi Elnora gowns.

It is no secret that Ella and I love ball gowns. So, it is easy to pick a favorite for us from the line! We absolutely adore the Katie Grace gown from the Build a Bride line and knew it would be perfect at our shop from the minute we saw her! We love the gorgeous scoop neckline and who can say no to a gown with pockets?!?

Each gown is truly gorgeous from Heidi, but my favorite from the Build a Bride line would have to be the Coco Marie. I love the classic lines the gown offers and the princess seaming is sure to flatter any figure! I also love this piece because it is so easy to build on and it can transform into so many different options!

Style Watch: Market Review

Market this October was absolutely out of this world. The ladies of White Dresses are so excited to share their latest finds and to fill brides in on what they can expect to see at White Dresses Huntsville and White Dresses Nashville within the upcoming year.

First, we should say that it was our Huntsville bridal shop owner's first trip to the City. We wanted to show Morgan around and make sure she got to see all the City had to offer! So, you will have to put up with us posting some silly pictures from the fun we had when we weren't drowning in bridal gowns.

Friday

On Friday we arrived in New York in just enough time to run to the Ines di Santo Runway Show. During our very first market, we attended the Ines di Santo Runway Show for our Alabama bridal boutique and we have been in love with her gowns ever since that date!

Ines di Santo presented a collection that was sophisticated, sexy, and dramatic - using gorgeous Chantilly laces, intricate beading, and gorgeous silk tulle to accomplish a truly jaw dropping collection. One of our favorite looks from the new collection was a new take on the high-low silhouette - creating the high-low portion of the skirt on the sides rather than the front and back.

Following our runway show, we headed to grab a quick bite at Room Service - our favorite Thai restaurant in the City. Oddly enough, we bumped into David from Alabama Weddings Magazine and Christopher Confero from Christopher Confero Designs while we were there! It is always so nice to bump into people from home when you are in the City!

Next, we headed to the East Village to meet with Tatyana Merenyuk for our Nashville bridal boutique. We have been so excited to meet this new designer since eyeing her pieces on Instagram a few months back - they are so ethereal and dreamy.

One of the things we loved most about Tatyana's gowns were how lightweight they were - perfect for the bride who is looking to get married outdoors.

Our next appointment felt like it was a little slice of home - we headed to see our Alabama gal in New York City. Jaw dropping new items from Heidi will be heading back to our Nashville bridal shop and Huntsville bridal shop very soon!

There were so many options from Heidi Elnora's Build a Bride line that we didn't know where to start! We are so excited about our finds and know our brides will love getting to create their own wedding gowns! We were excited to see the Vivienne Beau gown added to the Build a Bride line - we love this classic gown and know it will work perfectly with some of the laces pieces we found to bring home!

We ended our night with some extreme bridal eye candy at the JLM Press Show. Our Alabama bridal shop went to the show and focused on Hayley Paige's designs while our Tennessee bridal shop focused on Jim Hjelm's newest looks. Both were absolute perfection and we could barely contain our excitement until our writing appointment.

Before heading into the room, we headed over to Freemans Restaurant in the East Village for a tasty dinner. Now, we understand not everyone reading this will be full blown foodies - but those who are - oh my gosh!

Saturday

We started our morning off with Sarabeth's Kitchen. Every visit to the City (since Kara and I were literally little kids) has included a breakfast at Sarabeth's Kitchen. As usual, Sarabeth's didn't disappoint and was the perfect start to a busy day of bridal appointments!

We started our bridal appointments off with Modern Trousseau. Our Huntsville bridal boutique was focusing on new gown inventory for her boutique and we tagged along to drool over some of Modern Trousseau's latest additions.

Next, we headed to JLM Couture's office in the Garment District and had our writing appointments for both of our shops at Blush by Hayley Paige. We broke off later to view Hayley Paige gowns for the Alabama bridal boutique and Jim Hjelm gowns for our Tennessee bridal boutique.

Both of our shops viewed the Blush by Hayley Paige collection! We were so pleased with the gorgeous gowns offered by Hayley in this collection and absolutely can't wait to get them in store. Our Huntsville bridal shop selected two stunning ball gowns, an A-line gown, and a trumpet gown. Our Nashville bridal shop selected a gorgeous ball gown, two A-line gowns, and a stunning  trumpet gown.

Our Huntsville bridal shop then headed to select her Hayley Paige gowns. As many of you know, Hayley said I do this year to her dream man and she did so in four of the most gorgeous wedding gowns you have ever seen - all were incorporated into her latest collection.

After visiting with Hayley for a little while, we headed to the Jim Hjelm show to see some more Hayley designs! For those of you who don't know - Hayley has been quite the busy girl since she designs for her own collection, the Blush by Hayley Paige collection, and the Jim Hjelm Collection. Hayley also creates bridesmaids dresses for Occasions and created her own bridesmaids line this year based on the gowns her bridesmaids wore in her own wedding!

After a quick bite of lunch at a food truck, we headed to the Piers to see some stunning gowns and accessories. The Piers host a large group of bridal brands in one convenient location. This year we saw a.b. Ellie, Ellen Hunter, Erin Cole, and Stephanie Allin.

Our first stop was with the amazing Ellen Hunter! We can't quit swooning about how much we love these new accessories and the fact that Ellen focuses so much on gold has us giddy! Be looking for her stunning designs at both our Nashville bridal boutique and our Huntsville bridal boutique.

After visiting with Ellen Hunter, we headed to visit with Erin Cole. We absolutely adore carrying Erin Cole's designs in both of our boutiques and found some simply stunning pieces for both shops!

Next we visited with a.b. Ellie, picking up some amazing sashes and one simply adorable headpiece that we just can't get over! We were on the hunt this season for amazing headpieces to bring back and when we walked into a.b. Ellie's booth we spotted this stunner right away! We were obsessed.

Next, we stopped in to chat with our amazing friend Stephanie Allin. We loved every single piece Stephanie had to offer and loved getting to catch up with our favorite lady from Wales. We are currently planning our trip to Mumbles - if only there wasn't a huge pond separating us!

Following our busy day at The Piers, we headed over to Il Buco to grab a bite at dinner. Kara, Ella, and Teresa all ordered the same amazing kale salad and Morgan started with a tasty tomato salad. Kara and Morgan both had an amazing pasta dish while Teresa and Ella decided to opt for risotto dishes. Every single thing we ate at Il Buco was perfection.

New York isn't complete without the chance to see a show on Broadway and we wanted Morgan to get the full experience. We headed over to see Aladdin on Broadway and were completely obsessed with the show.

Sidenote: Kara has had a longtime love affair with crop tops stemming from her favorite childhood Disney movie - Aladdin. For three years straight, Kara went as Jasmine for Halloween. Better than that, though, she coerced our grandmother into creating crop tops for her to wear around. It goes without saying - Kara is loving the crop top bridal trend we have been seeing!

Sunday

To start our Sunday, we headed to Haute Bride at The London (which is where we stayed too!) to select some amazing gorgeous jewelry and accessories for both our Huntsville and Nashville locations.

After our early morning appointment with Haute Bride, we headed to brunch at The Balthazar Restaurant. We loved everything we tried - from the onion soup to the steak frites to the oysters to the beef stroganoff.

Following our tasty brunch, we headed to Lela Rose to select gowns for our Nashville bridal boutique. White Dresses Nashville is so excited to have Lela Rose as a designer and she brings something so amazing to our collection.

Next, we headed to The Couture Show, which is put on by The Knot, to see two designers who were showing there - Palazzo by Jane White and Toni Federici.

We were head over heels in love with Palazzo's gowns and getting to see Jane was such a pleasure - we absolutely adore her!

Monday

We woke up and headed to Tara La Tour to see her newest collection. Tara La Tour uses the most amazing fabrics and creates pieces that are so unique - perfect for the Nashville bride!

We could have literally gotten every dress in her collection - absolutely in love with every piece. And even more in love with Tara herself - who is the sweetest designer ever!

Sidenote: Tara showed at Leonardo Dicaprio's old apartment. We were so in love with the flat and couldn't believe we were hanging out in Leo's den!

Next, we trotted over to Anna Maier for our writing appointment. At the appointment, we found some amazing pieces for both our Alabama bridal shop and Tennessee bridal shop. We love the way Anna Maier gowns fit the bride and the quality can't be matched! Truly a couture masterpiece!

After a full morning of all things bridal, we headed to The Spotted Pig in West Village for a yummy lunch. We found The Spotted Pig when we went to market with our grandmother a few markets ago and have made it a must eat location ever since!

Finally, we headed to our Ines di Santo writing appointment. We are so excited to be bringing Ines di Santo to our Huntsville bridal shop and can't wait until her gowns are in store! Everything was literally breathtaking!

Even though we were finished with our bridal appointments, we weren't finished with our time in the City. We headed to The Bohemian for an amazing dinner. We absolutely loved this speakeasy.

New Trends

As always, we saw tons of new trends during bridal market. Our owners shared some of their favorite new trends and why they are excited about the upcoming year of showing these trends off to brides.

One of my favorite trends spotted at bridal market was the incorporation of gold into accessories. While some of our designers had started incorporating gold into their accessories, we saw a full blast of gold from all of our designers and we are giddy over it!
— Ella Kinsland, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Boutique Owner
I am still head over heels for the lace sleeves we are seeing at market. This trend started a few seasons back, but we are seeing all of our designers incorporating sleeves at this point. I am excited to dress brides across Alabama in options that are slightly different than your traditional strapless gown.
— Morgan Bolen, Huntsville Boutique Owner
I am loving illusions still. We saw lots of lace illusions at all of our designers. We also are seeing a slightly sexier feel for bridal this market and I am elated about that. Oh - and crop tops! I’m a sucker for crop tops!
— Kara Leonard, White Dresses Co-Founder and Nashville Boutique Owner

We hope you have enjoyed our market review! Stay tuned to our social media pages to see even more updates from New York Bridal Market.

Market: White Dresses Travels to New York Bridal Market

White Dresses, a collection of Southern bridal shops, is excited to head to New York City October 9th through October 13th for New York Bridal Market. During the trip, each White Dresses location will select gorgeous sample gowns to bring home to their bridal boutiques. White Dresses Huntsville will be closed beginning October 9th throughout the remainder of market and will reopen on October 14th for normal business hours.

White Dresses Nashville will be viewing gowns from an array of designers. White Dresses Co-Founder, Kara Leonard, shared what she is most excited about seeing at this upcoming market.

Going into this market, I am really excited to see what our designers have created for our precious Southern brides. I absolutely can’t wait to see what we will be bringing back to our Nashville bridal shop. I am particularly excited to see how designers have decided to incorporate color and patterns into their designs this market. Over the past few markets, we have seen a stunning use of floral patterns on gowns and I hope that trend is continued this upcoming market.

White Dresses Huntsville will also be purchasing new inventory for the boutique. Huntsville bridal shop owner, Morgan Bolen, shared that she was excited to see the use of beading by designer Hayley Paige during her market visit.

Hayley Paige is one of the designers we carry at the Huntsville bridal shop and I am excited to see how she has incorporated beading into her designs this season. Hayley is always on the forefront of amazing beading options and always has gorgeous beaded bolero options with her gowns. I am hoping she continues her beading options this market and we see a lot of options to bring home to our Huntsville bridal boutique.
